Covid-19 Pandemic

Following advice, from the NHS and British Orthodontic Society, Smiles Orthodontic Practice is closed to patients. All appointments for the foreseeable future have been cancelled.

If you have a fixed brace and wear elastics please continue with these. Leave a phone message if you run out so we can send you some more. Removable appliances and retainers should continue to be worn as instructed.

If you have a problem with your orthodontic appliance there is guidance in the Orthodontic Emergencies Protocol on the British Orthodontic Society website.

At this stage please only contact the practice if you have a concern or orthodontic emergency that is causing discomfort. Unfortunately we are unable to replace brackets, repair broken removable appliances or provide replacement retainers.

These are extraordinary times and the safety of our patients, staff and families is paramount.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Smiles as soon as possible.

Treatment Options

Clear Fixed Braces

This is our most popular treatment option when taking into account aesthetics and value for money. Consisting of a wire held in place by ceramic brackets it creates a discreet brace which is unobtrusive and easy to wear. A fixed brace is the most versatile and flexible of the brace systems available and is used to treat crowding, spacing and bite problems.

Invisalign Aligners

We use the Invisalign system first patented in America. This treatment consists of a series of computer engineered clear removable aligners, custom made for each patient, which fit snugly over the teeth. Each aligner is worn for 2 weeks and the subtle difference with each aligner allows the teeth to move gradually until they are correctly positioned. The aesthetics are excellent and will successfully treat a variety of orthodontic issues. The aligners are removed for eating so there is no need to avoid your favourite foods on account of your orthodontic treatment.

Invisalign i7 and Invisalign Lite

These systems are suitable for milder cases where fewer aligners are required for treatment. The orthodontist will be able to confirm if you fit the criteria for Invisalign  i7 or Lite.

Incognito Braces

If you are looking for an invisible way to straighten your teeth you should consider Incognito braces. This treatment uses custom made brackets which are fixed to the inner (lingual) surface of the tooth. Made in Germany, each bracket is individually designed to fit the contours of your teeth along with custom made wires. The laboratory costs and longer appointment times are reflected in the cost of this treatment and orthodontic care.
